Two emerging local music acts will step into the spotlight this Youth Week as part of a new partnership between the City of Hobart, YouthArc and the Theatre Royal.

As part of the City of Hobart's $35,000 Major Cultural Organisational grant, the selected solo artist, Kieran Lonergan ("Kiz") and band The Jaceys will film their own professional music videos—completely free—on 16 April 2025 at the Theatre Royal's Studio Theatre.

The initiative is part of Youth Week 2025 (10–17 April) and aims to involve as many young people as possible in the production process. Each shoot will be supported by professional mentors in film, lighting, production, and editing—providing a rare hands-on experience for aspiring creatives.

Well-regarded producer/cinematographer Ursula Woods will guide the post-production phase, helping give young people both the tools and the confidence to express themselves creatively.

The music video project is one of several initiatives supported by the City of Hobart's Creative Hobart program.
