Federal Nationals Member for Page Kevin Hogan said Labor's Budget has failed to deal with the economic challenges our country is facing.
He has highlighted 5 key points that affect our local communities:
1. Australians are poorer after three years of the Albanese Labor Government. The typical Australian household is $35,000 worse off. We are paying more for food, mortgages, rent, power, and gas.
2. Labor's tax cuts are 70c a day, and don't start for over a year. This is not going to help address the financial stress families are under.
3. Labor is bringing in 1.8 million new migrants over 5 years, whilst the housing crisis escalates. The dream of home ownership is slipping away.
4. 29,000 small businesses have closed under Labor's watch, while they have brought on 41,000 new public servants in Canberra.
5. There is nothing in this Budget for regional Australia, other than more cuts. There is no new funding for the Stronger Communities program, Local Roads and Community Infrastructure program, and other programs critical to building community infrastructure.
"A Coalition Government will always better manage the economy so we can pay for essential services and keep our country safe and secure. Australians deserve better than this weak and incompetent Labor government," Mr Hogan said.
"Ask yourself: are you better off than you were three years ago? The answer is no."
