A Darwin man’s holiday has taken an extraordinary turn after discovering he’s $1.2 million richer, transforming an already blissful getaway into an unforgettable celebration. The lucky Territorian held one of four Division One winning entries in TattsLotto Draw 4519 on Saturday, 9 November 2024, pocketing an impressive $1,280,804.05.
The unsuspecting winner, who had been ignoring missed calls from lottery officials while on vacation, eventually gave in to curiosity.
“That’s insane!” he laughed when speaking with a lotto official.
“I noticed a few missed calls and a text message, but at first, I thought it was spam. I’d had a tough time getting to my holiday destination and didn’t want anything spoiling my break.”
After logging into his online account on The Lott to check his ticket, the life-changing news hit him.
“There was some colourful language, let’s just say that! It hasn’t really sunk in yet.”
With plans to reunite with his family and surprise them with the news, the elated winner shared, “Once my holiday is finished, I’ll pay my son a visit! I might not be home for a month!”
The winning 7-game QuickPick entry was purchased on The Lott website.
The winning numbers for TattsLotto Draw 4519 were 30, 39, 6, 36, 5, and 43, with supplementary numbers 45 and 17. Nationally, there were four Division One winners: two in Western Australia, one in the Northern Territory, and one in New South Wales.
