Homicide Investigation At Ipswich

Police have arrested a 36-year-old man in relation to a homicide investigation following the death of a woman at Leichhardt this morning, July 15.

Around 9.15am, police were called to a Flinders Drive address to conduct a welfare check.

Upon arrival, police located a 28-year-old woman deceased and a crime scene was declared.

Officers, with the help of Polair, tracked a man in a vehicle and tyre deflation device was deployed, before the Toyota sedan came to a stop at Ipswich Boonah Road at Peak Crossing, where one man was taken into custody around 10.15am.

The vehicle has been towed for forensic examination.

Police are also searching for any items of interest at Wyaralong Dam, that may have been used in connection with the alleged offence.
