Detectives have commenced a homicide investigation after a man was stabbed in Laidley overnight.
Police were called to the Patrick Street house around 9.50pm after a man had been reportedly stabbed a number of times.
A fire had also been deliberately lit in the house and was extinguished by emergency crews.
The 48-year-old man died a short time later at the scene.
Investigations are continuing.
