The arrival of Homo sapiens in cold northern latitudes took place several thousand years before Neanderthals disappeared in southwest Europe. This is the conclusion reached by a team of researchers including Dr. Marcel Weiß from the Chair of Pre- and Protohistory at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). They have now published their results in leading scientific journals.
