AlburyCity is calling for nominations for the Albury Awards 2023, to celebrate the selfless work that individuals and community groups are doing on behalf of our city.
Nominations are now open for Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Community Group of the Year.
The annual awards highlight a significant or outstanding contribution to the Albury community throughout the year, or ongoing service over a number of years.
The winners will be presented with their awards at a ceremony on Australia Day, 26 January 2023.
AlburyCity Mayor Kylie King urged residents to nominate those that have gone above and beyond for our community.
"The Albury Awards are a great way for us to acknowledge the wonderful contributions that people are making in our city each and every day," Mayor King said.
"It could be that quiet achiever who is working hard behind the scenes to support people in need within our community and make Albury an even better place to live."
"If you know of a special someone who is doing great work in our city, please let us know by nominating them for the Albury Awards 2023."
"I was so inspired and humbled to hear the stories of last year's recipients, and I can't wait to see who takes out top honours this year."
The winners of the 2022 Albury Awards included:
- Elizabeth Docksey - Citizen of the Year
- Eli Davern - Young Citizen of the Year
- Philip Cooper - Volunteer of the Year
- Cancer Council Transport to Treatment Team - Community Group of the Year
Further information and nomination forms are available on the AlburyCity website, at the AlburyCity Council Offices on Kiewa Street, the Albury LibraryMuseum and Lavington Library.
