This Remembrance Day, we invite you to join us in the Atrium of Council's Civic Centre as we honour those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Tomorrow, Thursday November 9, and Friday November 10, poppies will be sold in the Atrium, where the 'Moss Vale Remembers' exhibition will be showcased until 1 December.
Commemorated annually on November 11th, Remembrance Day serves as a solemn tribute to the brave men and women who have given their lives in the line of duty to protect our nation. Council's planned activities are among the many services and tributes happening across our Shire as Australia prepares to pay our respects on Remembrance Day, Saturday November 11, to the fallen service personnel from our communities whose sacrifices will never be forgotten.
Wingecarribee Shire Council be represented at local services by volunteer team members who feel privileged to share in honouring the memory of our Veterans. "Wingecarribee Shire Council is grateful to have so many team members volunteering to demonstrate the respect we all share for our Veterans," says Lisa Miscamble, Wingecarribee Shire Council's General Manager.
In partnership with the Moss Vale Returned Serviceman's League Sub-Branch and local photographer Richard Batterley, we're exhibiting Moss Vale Pays Tribute in The Atrium until 1 December 2023. A selection of moving images and memorabilia honouring the service and sacrifice of local men and women who've served our country around the world. The display includes a small but impressive collection of World War I and World War II memorabilia on loan from the Sub-Branch museum at Moss Vale Ex-Services Club, including post WWII uniforms on mannequins.
Pop in to view the installation between 8:30am and 4:30pm Monday to Friday and from 9am to 12noon on Saturdays.
A time for reflection, gratitude and unity, we warmly invite community members to share in these Remembrance Day gatherings and events with us.
