Hornsby Shire Council Mayor the Hon Philip Ruddock AO has encouraged locals to get involved in this bushwalking initiative.
"Winter is a fantastic time for residents to get out and about and see the Bushland Shire's beautiful flora and fauna while learning from some of our experts," said Mayor Ruddock.
"I challenge myself to walk 10,000 steps every day in the beautiful Bushland Shire and every day I discover a new flower, new vista or meet new people along the way. All of which reminds me how lucky I am to call Hornsby Shire home."
The winter bushwalks are part of Hornsby Shire Council's on-going program of guided walks which showcase the natural beauty of the Bushland Shire through the changing seasons. Programs are announced three times per year.
