Hornsby Shire Council is excited to welcome back the vibrant Taste of the World event, celebrating the brilliant cultural diversity of its community with a dazzling display of performances and culinary experiences.

Lighting up Hornsby Mall on Friday 4 April, the event will feature music and dance displays, cultural workshops, a pop-up bar and a convoy of delicious delights from food trucks including Kim's Bop (modern Korean food), Yen's Yumm Banhs, Satay Brothers, MyMe Express (Indian street food), Little Tokyo Japanese Eats, and more.

Taking place from 4pm to 8pm, with the entertainment commencing from 5pm, performers include Lily Guerrero & Band, Bollywood dance, Samba Brazil, a Capoeira display, and an array of dancers and performers.

Hornsby Shire Mayor Warren Waddell said he is excited to celebrate the Shire's rich diversity with an event that's sure to be a hit for everyone.

"Hornsby Shire is a fantastic place to live and work for many reasons, not least of which is the great vibrancy that our multicultural community brings to the area," he said.

"At each of our citizenship ceremonies, I have the honour of welcoming new people to our community from a huge diversity of backgrounds. I think this event is a great way to acknowledge the significant contribution of these various communities to Hornsby Shire, and to have a lot of fun while experiencing something new at the same time."

Taste of the World is part of several community-driven initiatives to celebrate diversity in Hornsby Shire, including upcoming Harmony Day activities at Hornsby Library on 20 and 21 March including children's Storytime and a welcome table.
