Residents are encouraged to join the University of South Australia for a morning of science and entertainment at the Horsham Golf Club on Saturday, 21 September.
The event, titled "The Science of Why We Hurt," promises to be a captivating exploration of pain, resilience, and recovery.
Event Highlights:
- Building Resilience Across the Lifespan: This session will delve into the what, why, and how of validating our children's pain. Understanding and accepting their pain is crucial for their emotional regulation, which impacts their mental health and overall well-being.
- Exploring Movement: Reframing pain and safety culture to build resilience. In this session, we will discuss factors that influence how we perceive our bodies and our ability to act within our environment. We will look at recent findings suggesting that by reframing pain and changing the way we view 'safe' and 'unsafe' movement and postural rules, we can improve our resilience and enhance recovery outcomes. We will explore the benefits of fostering curiosity about movement.
