Horsham Youth Share Achievments At FReeZA Summit

Earlier this week, representatives of Council's Horsham Youth team attended the Annual FReeZA Summit in Melbourne.

The FReeZA summit is an annual event that brings together all state FReeZA Youth Committees for a day of collaboration, workshops, information sharing and connection.

During this event, the Horsham Youth team presented a culmination of their achievements over the last year, including the Pride Prom, the Skate Park art installation and the live music performance at last April's ProMX Championship.

Among the nearly 300 attendees was State Minister for Youth, Veterans, Small Business and Employment, Natalie Suleyman, who discussed the future of employment for our state's youth, FReeZA programming and keeping young people engaged in the community.

"It was exciting and a bit of a shock. It was nice have our work recognised and enjoyed by our peers," Youth Services Planning & Engagement Officer Alicia Drew said.

"We've had other committees ask us how we approached projects and if we can provide insight for them to do similar things."
