The Horticulture Award and Pastoral Award have new definitions and minimum pay rates for entry-level classifications from 1 April 2025.
This follows changes to entry-level classifications in awards.
What's changing
From 1 April 2025, the below changes apply:
Horticulture Award and Pastoral Award
For the Horticulture Award and Pastoral Award, there are new time limits for introductory classifications.
Horticulture Award
There are new indicative tasks for Level 2 employees under the Horticulture Award.
Pastoral Award
The Pastoral Award has:
- new minimum pay rates for Piggery attendant Level 2 employees in the Pastoral Award
- new ongoing classifications for station hands, station cooks and station cook's offsiders in the Pastoral Award.
The Fair Work Commission (the national workplace relations tribunal) has made changes to these 2 awards as part of its Review of C14 and C13 rates in modern awards.
