Hospital Staff Strained, Demand End to Liberal-Lambie Cuts

Tas Labor

Labor stands for safe, secure, well-paid jobs, and that means standing with workers when they advocate for better conditions.

We support the action taken by critical radiographers, sonographers and nuclear medicine technologists who are taking a strong stand against the Liberal-Lambie health cuts.

How can Tasmania build the health system it needs, when the Government ensures the workforce is under-staffed, underpaid, and under-resourced?

We are calling on the Government to urgently address their health department's staffing crisis. It's well past time for Minister Barnett and the Liberal-Lambie Coalition to back in their front-line health staff - cuts are not the answer.

Workers are sick and tired of being ignored, they're sick of being told the Government is on a 'recruitment blitz' while positions are being cut around them and they're sick of hearing about this Government's record investment in health amid cutbacks to health infrastructure funding.

The Liberal-Lambie Coalition are running our health system into the ground, and its Tasmanian patients that are going to suffer the consequences.
