DTU is represented at this year's People's Festival on Bornholm by a strong team of quick-minded debaters, who will be discussing highly relevant topics such as energy, climate, security and defence technology, and the reform of master's degree programmes in Denmark. They will be joined by experts, politicians, and other participants in the Tech Tent (B1) at our new location on Strandvejen in Allinge.
Among other things, we will be discussing defence technology research in a new geopolitical reality, how the universities unleash the power of innovation, and whether the Danish Prime Minister should appoint a special scientific adviser. In the opening debate at the Tech Tent, we will also be talking about the universities' role in the climate fight with, among others, Danish Minister for Climate, Energy, and Utilities Lars Aagaard. Christine Nellemann, new dean with responsibility for sustainability, diversity, inclusion, and talent development at DTU, will take part in the debate.
Finally, four tech startups have been invited to the Tech Tent to pitch their business ideas to a panel of experienced entrepreneurial investors. Gridlinx from DTU will be there, a startup offering a solution to storing green energy from electric cars and using it as an alternative energy source in the home. Danish Journalist Mads Steffensen will also go on stage in the Tech Tent to moderate a discussion of university dilemmas with, among others, DTU President Anders Bjarklev, Danish Minister for Higher Education and Science Christine Egelund, and political commentator Søs Marie Serup.

As always, the Tech Tent is not just about debates and opinions. This year, you can hear about DTU's wind-powered car that can travel faster than the wind in direct headwinds—and which has brought home numerous international awards. You can also charge your phone from one of our solar chargers, learn more about foods of the future, and have a chat with some talented people from DTU over a glass of sustainable beer from the DTU Brewery incubator.
Finally, you can meet students from DTU, who will present and further develop their ideas for making Folkemødet—the People's Democratic Festival inclusive and accessible to everyone. The opening night will be capped off with a huge party, as always with Danish Minister for the Environment Magnus Heunicke co-DJing with a number of secret guest DJs.
