The Albanese Government is boosting Western Australia's housing supply by investing in critical infrastructure that will unlock up to 28,000 more homes across the state.
Thanks to the Government's Housing Support Program, $105 million has been allocated to 21 projects to fast-track housing in regional and metropolitan growth areas.
The projects are delivering social housing as well as enabling infrastructure - such as power, water and sewer works - critical for increasing housing supply.
The funding allocation includes:
- $50.6 million for Water Corporation infrastructure projects that will deliver an estimated 23,280 residential lots, including $7.3 million for two regional projects to deliver over 3,000 lots in Bunbury and Dardanup;
- $30.5 million for projects delivered by Western Power, DevelopmentWA and the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage that will deliver an estimated 4,565 residential lots and 19 social housing dwellings; and
- $23.8 million for construction projects that will deliver 51 social housing dwellings in High Wycombe, Stirling and Innaloo.
We're working closely with the Western Australian Government to identify opportunities to fast-track housing development across the state.
