A planning amendment and permit that seek to develop land in Drysdale into 192 housing lots will be exhibited to the community for feedback.
Amendment C447ggee aims to rezone land bound by Huntingdon Street, Princess Street and the Drysdale Bypass, affecting 12 properties. The planning application to subdivide land at Huntingdon and Princess streets applies to 10 properties.
The combined area is approximately 17 hectares, and the subdivision puts forward a range of lot sizes to suit different lifestyles and stages.
The proposed development would be located 1.2 kilometres south of the Drysdale town centre, close to sporting, community and educational facilities.
A local park for the north-west section of the development and co-located with a drainage basin intends to complement the use of the Bellarine Rail Trail as an active transport and recreational link.
Development contributions would fund community infrastructure and social and affordable housing, while road and drainage infrastructure and open space would be provided by the developer.
Council's Settlement Strategy, the Drysdale Clifton Springs Structure Plan and other policy documents support housing growth in this area.
Mayor Trent Sullivan
