Council is encouraging residents to discover and support their local, with its online business directory bigger than ever.
The business directory is one of many projects Council has implemented to support and promote local businesses within Camden, particularly throughout a time of such abnormality. It informs residents which businesses are still operating, how they are doing so and how their beloved customers can support them.
Local businesses that are listed on the directory are divided into the following sectors:
- Food and beverage;
- Retail;
- Professional services;
- Digital and web services;
- Construction;
- Trades, storage and repairs;
- Personal services, including beauty, fitness, counselling and tutoring; and
- All others.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said the directory was the perfect opportunity for businesses to extend their contact details to residents.
"In times like this, with COVID-19 restrictions impacting our local businesses, it's important we all work together to support each other, whether that means purchasing a product or sharing a business' social media post," Cr Fedeli said.
"Although we may not be able to visit the stores in person, there are many other ways to support one another. If you are a business owner and you have not yet joined the directory, I encourage you to go online and fill out the form.
"When you are purchasing anything from a local business, don't forget to share it on your social media, using the hashtags #CamdenBought and #CamdenLove."
