Catching cognitive decline early can be vital in staving off the effects of cognitive diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
Researchers, doctors and hospitals are turning to tech for early intervention and management of cognitive decline.
The Dementia Research Centre (Singapore) has developed a suite of three mobile apps designed specially with the Asian population in mind.
This suite of three apps was unveiled at NTU LKCMedicine's second annual Cognition Awareness Day today. Organised by LKCMedicine's DRCS, this year's programme centres on digital applications and technology for cognitive health.
These apps empower persons with dementia or those at risk to effectively manage their cognitive health in an easy and accessible manner. They allow for early detection and risk prediction, followed by diagnostic aid, and finally intervention and management of cognitive decline.
By giving the community, both young and old, an accessible self-assessment, predictive tool, DRSC hopes to encourage them to take charge of their cognitive health and improve dementia outcomes in Singapore.
