Helmholtz Association study draws up integrative scenarios: social and economic aspects must also be taken into account for a sustainable transformation

Germany aims to complete its energy transition by 2045. Researchers from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), the German Aerospace Center (DLR), and Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ) have outlined how a sustainable transformation of the energy system can succeed. In a policy briefing, the Helmholtz Association scientists analyse possible future scenarios, which includes a consideration of ecological, economic, institutional, organizational, and social aspects.
