Christmas is the time for celebrating with family and friends, with plenty of food, drink and presents. But when its all over, how do you get rid of everything?
Wrapping paper that is composed entirely of paper can be recycled in the yellow bin, while plastic-based wrappings and paper containing glitter and other contaminants go in the red bin.
Toy packaging can be tricky, as it often contains many different materials. Hard plastic and cardboard go in the yellow bin, while soft plastics, polystyrene and foam go in the red bin. Be sure to separate these materials accordingly.
If you've been cooking up a storm, glass jars go in the purple bin after a good clean, while their lids go in the yellow bin. Any broken glass or ceramic cookware CAN NOT be recycled and should be wrapped up and placed in your red bin.
Leftover food scraps can go in your green FOGO unwrapped. Empty drink cans can go in the yellow bin, and empty, clean glass bottles go in your purple bin.
If you have old Christmas decorations, you are encouraged to donate them. However, if the decorations are damaged and unusable, they go in the red bin.
