The Moulamein community will see movement at the Howard Park playground this week as the site is prepared for some exciting new additions.
The current playground will be demolished and removed, followed by excavation works to prepare the site for new equipment.
The net swing will remain.
During demolition, the surrounding park and facilities will remain open, but the playground area will be closed-off to access.
Mayor Cr Chris Bilkey said the new equipment will be a great addition to the park space.
"Howard Park is a key recreation space in the centre of town, so it's really pleasing that we are set to give the site a decent refresh."
"The provision of quality parks and playgrounds is of ongoing importance to council, so the installation of this equipment will ensure Moulamein families continue to have access to well-maintained and inviting recreation areas," he said.
The new playground will feature swings and slides, spider web climber, rope ladders, climbing nets, a ladder bridge and disc crossing swings.
The overall park improvements will also include a new BBQ shelter, footpaths, irrigation system, fences, bubblers, and park furniture.
Demolition and installation works will continue through to the end of March.
"Some of the work will temporarily affect park use, but we appreciate everyone's understanding as we complete these exciting upgrades," Cr Bilkey said.
