Howrah Incident: Youth Charged with Assault by Police

Police have charged a 15-year-old youth with assault following an incident at Howrah this morning.

Police will allege the youth verbally and physically confronted several people on Clarence Street around 9.55am.

Police will further allege the youth threatened a person with a screwdriver, before leaving the area with another youth.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

Bellerive CIB arrested the two youths nearby at Wentworth Park, at which time one of the youths was in possession of a screwdriver.

A 15-year-old girl was charged with assault and will appear before the Youth Justice Court at a later date.

The second youth was released without charged.

Police thank members of the community for swiftly contacting police to allow a quick resolution of the incident.
