International leading law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Etix Everywhere, operator of a network of regional data centres, on the acquisition of five data centres from the DataBank group, operated by zColo France SAS, located in Montpellier, Paris and Toulouse.
This acquisition will be carried out with the support of Eurazeo through its Eurazeo Transition Infrastructure Fund.
The five data centres currently have an available capacity of 3.5 MW/1,000 racks, which can be extended to 5.4 MW/1,500 racks (maximum IT capacity). These assets will be highly complementary to Etix's French data centres, which are extending its geographical presence into three new regions in the Paris region and the south of France. This acquisition also increases the maximum capacity of the Etix portfolio to 17.3 MW.
With this acquisition, Etix strengthens its position as the undisputed leader in the regional data centre market in France, with twelve data centres in five different regions. Etix continues to innovate and deliver cutting-edge data centre solutions to meet the evolving needs of its customers and continue its decarbonisation trajectory.
The closing of the deal is subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals. The transaction is anticipated to close by end of Q3 2023.
