Hume City Council will be hitting the ground running in December with Christmas celebrations already underway and a jam-packed calendar of events to get locals in the holiday spirit.

Across our city, we have a number of activities that will keep all ages feeling festive and staying active in the lead up to the end of year.

The range of events will give people the opportunity to get creative, engage with other locals and keep the little ones entertained while they indulge in Christmas fun.

Events include:

  • Christmas arts and crafts

  • Gingerbread Tree Decorating Workshops

  • Christmas Twilight Series

  • Little Elves Workshop

  • Santa Storytime

  • Carols by Candlelight at Anzac Park

And don't forget our Make Hume Shine Christmas lights competition is on again for 2024 encouraging locals to put their Christmas lights on display to win up to $1,000 or $250 for businesses.

Whether going large or just nailing the Christmas spirit, everyone is encouraged to enter simply by uploading an image of their Christmas display.

If you're over 18, snap a photo of your house, shop front or company building lights or decorations and submit them at our Participate page.

Entries close at 11.59pm Wednesday 11 December.
