Hume Freeway Ramp Closures by Transport Department

The Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) will temporarily close some ramps to the Hume Freeway near Beveridge and Wallan on Monday 3 and Tuesday 4 March for essential pavement repairs and investigations.

  • Monday 3 March - Hume Freeway outbound off-ramp (Lithgow Street), Beveridge
    • This ramp will be fully closed between 10pm and 5am.
    • A detour will be in place via the Northern Highway.
    • Drivers should travel north past the Beveridge turnoff and take the exit to the Northern Highway before completing a U-turn and returning to the Hume Freeway and taking the southbound Beveridge exit.
  • Tuesday 4 March - Hume Freeway outbound on-ramp (Lithgow Street) Beveridge
    • This ramp will be fully closed between 10pm and 5am.
    • A detour will be in place via the Donnybrook Road exit.
    • Drivers should travel south on the Hume Freeway to Donnybrook Road exit before returning to Hume Freeway and taking the northbound Beveridge exit.
  • Tuesday 4 March - Northern Highway on-ramp to the Hume Freeway, Wallan
    • The southbound on-ramp to the Hume Freeway from the Northern Highway will be fully closed between 6pm and 6am.
    • A detour will be in place for road users travelling south on the Northern Highway.
    • Drivers should travel south via Watson Street and Epping Kilmore Road before re-entering the Hume Freeway via Donnybrook Road.

Throughout these works, the speed limit on the Hume Freeway near the sites will be temporarily reduced, and intermittent closures of access to and from the freeway will occur for safety reasons.

Detour routes will be clearly signposted, and additional travel time of approximately 15 minutes is recommended.
