IAG claims team supporting Far North Queensland customers from the Townsville Sports Stadium
IAG, whose brands include NRMA Insurance, CGU, WFI and ROLLiN' has Claims and Major Event Specialist teams on the ground providing face to face support for customers and communities impacted by the extreme rainfall and flooding in North and Far North Queensland.
IAG claims personnel are available at the Townsville Sports Stadium (details below) from 9am - 4pm daily, to help customers lodge their claims in person and support them with any help they need such as temporary accommodation and emergency financial assistance.
IAG's 24/7 Major Event Response Team and Natural Perils Team of extreme weather experts continue to closely monitor the weather event to ensure IAG's resources, including assessing teams and partner builders, can continue moving into flood affected areas as soon as it is safe to do so.
IAG has contacted customers in those areas around Townsville affected by extreme rainfall and flooding and continues to urge customers to contact their insurer as soon as possible to make a claim and to access immediate support.
As of Wednesday 5 February 2025, IAG has received 192 claims across its brands (since 26 January 2025), with the majority of claims at this stage from customers affected by severe weather in Ingham, Kirwan and Cardwell.
NRMA Insurance Executive General Manager Claims Luke Gallagher said safety must continue to be the number one priority.
"With further heavy rainfall expected in the coming days, and a number of communities still cut off by floodwaters, it's critical that safety remains top priority," Mr Gallagher said.
We urge everyone to follow the directions and advice of the emergency authorities and to help ensure their family, friends and neighbours are safeLuke Gallagher
