One of Townsville's most iconic landmarks is upgrading its playground and Council wants to know what you would like to include as part of the project.
The Queens Gardens playground is set for renewal and Council wants to know how you use the current playground, what you love about it and what age group you'd like the future playground to cater for.
Division three's Councillor Ann-Maree Greaney said the playground was beloved not just by residents but also by visitors to the city.
"Queens Gardens is a unique and special garden for North Queensland. It was established in 1870 and is recognised by the state government as a heritage garden in Townsville, with four hectares of formal ornamental plants, including the palm lawn, the rose gardens and many impressive trees," Cr Greaney said.
"This garden has been at the heart of our city for more than 150 years and is a beautiful place for residents and visitors to enjoy for free, which is why we want to make sure our upgrades to the park's playground reflect the people who use the space.
"Your feedback on how you and your family use the current playground, what you love about the playground and what age group you'd like the playground to cater for will help us ensure that this equipment will be best suited for our park visitors.
"There's also a section of the survey to provide any general feedback about the playground or the future of the open space, so make sure you use that opportunity to share your thoughts on Queens Gardens.
"Providing your feedback is simple. Just head to Council's Have Your Say Townsville website and fill out the survey."
