Illegal Vehicle Use Arrests in Burleigh Heads

Police have charged six teenagers after two stolen vehicles were detected by police traveling from Logan to the Gold Coast on March 24.

Around midnight, police began tracking a stolen Toyota Rav4 in Eagleby.

A Tyre Deflation Device (TDD) was successfully deployed, and the vehicle continued for some time before coming to a stop near Fryar Road.

The occupants abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene in a second stolen vehicle, a Skoda sedan.

The stolen vehicle was tracked along the Pacific Motorway to the New South Wales border, and through southern Gold Coast suburbs.

The vehicle came to a stop near Christine Avenue in Burleigh Heads around 3am and six people were taken into custody.

No one was injured.

The grey 2013 Toyota Rav4 was allegedly stolen from Oak Avenue at Surfers Paradise sometime between 4am and 7.30am on March 23.

The silver 2014 Skoda Superb sedan was allegedly stolen from Cumberland Place at Parkinson, around 10.30pm on March 18.

A 16-year-old girl from Biggera Waters was charged with two counts of unlawful use of motor vehicles aircraft or vessels. She was due to appear before Southport Childrens Court on March 24.

A 13-year-old boy from Pimpama was charged with two counts of unlawful use of motor vehicles aircraft or vessels. He was due to appear before Southport Childrens Court on March 24.

A 15-year-old boy from Robina was charged with four counts of unlawful use of motor vehicles aircraft or vessels. He was due to appear before Southport Childrens Court on March 24.

A 14-year-old boy from Main Beach was charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of unlawful possession of suspected stolen property. He is due to appear before Southport Childrens Court on March 26.

A 14-year-old boy from Varsity Lakes was charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of driving of motor vehicle without driver licence. He was due to appear before Southport Childrens Court on March 24.

A 14-year-old boy from Paradise Point was charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle. He was due to appear before Southport Childrens Court on March 24.
