Detectives from Redcliffe Child Protection and Investigation Unit have charged a 78-year-old man following investigations into alleged child sex offences and an indecent act committed between July and November 2024.
Police yesterday attended a Deception Bay address where a search warrant was executed.
A number of devices were seized and a 78-year-old man taken into custody.
During enquiries with potential witnesses yesterday, police received a report alleging the man exposed himself to a woman in November 2024.
It will be further alleged the man sent indecent messages to a child under 16 in an attempt to procure child exploitation material and exposed a child to indecent material, between July and November 2024.
The 78-year-old man has been charged with one count each of using internet to procure children under 16, indecent treatment of child under 16 and indecent act in any place with intent to insult or offend any person.
Police refused bail, and he appeared before Redcliffe Magistrates Court this morning, February 22.
Police investigations remain ongoing, detectives appeal for anyone with further information that could assist investigations to come forward.
