Indecent treatment of child , Cairns North

Police have charged a 23-year-old Clifton Beach man following investigations into the alleged inappropriate filming of children at a public swimming complex in Cairns North.

It will be alleged the man used a phone to film at least one child while in changerooms at the complex on Monday, November 21 between 4pm-6pm.

The man was arrested yesterday afternoon, with investigations ongoing to determine if the man may have committed other similar offences.

He has been charged with indecent treatment of a child under 16 and will face Cairns Magistrates Court on December 12.

Investigations remain ongoing with detectives appealing for anyone with information which may assist investigations to contact them.
