The Indian education minister has visited RMIT, to explore best practice research and industry partnerships.

Dharmendra Pradhan today joined federal education minister Jason Clare, RMIT Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Alec Cameron and university students at the City Campus.

The ministerial visit reinforced RMIT's bilateral relations and regional collaboration - and showcased the university's industry-led research and study programs which deliver outcomes across the Asia Pacific region.

As part of the visit, the Indian delegation toured RMIT's state-of-the-art Discovery to Device advanced manufacturing facility.

The facility fosters collaboration between universities, researchers and start-ups to develop new technologies for healthcare and diagnostics, including wireless electronic devices and rapid disease screening.

The tour also included RMIT's College of Vocational Education facilities.

RMIT is a leading provider of transnational education, particularly in India, under the university's flagship partnership with Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
