Police are appealing for information following the theft of cigarettes from several businesses on Hobart's Eastern Shore in recent weeks.
A Bellerive service station, a Lauderdale bottle shop and a Lindisfarne supermarket were targeted, with an estimated $50,000 worth of cigarettes stolen and approximately $25,000 damage caused.
Detective Sergeant Boyd from Bellerive CIB said offenders have no regard for the impact their crimes have on local communities.
"Anyone with information about these incidents, or the subsequent illegal sale of cigarettes is asked to contact police, or Crime Stoppers anonymously," she said.
Information can be provided to Bellerive CIB on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers Tasmania at crimestopperstas.com.au.
