Works are continuing this April on the Seymour-Avenel Road bridge in Seymour as part of the Inland Rail project, being delivered by McConnell Dowell.
Construction is progressing well, with the new bridge expected to open to traffic during April 2025, subject to weather and site conditions.
Works during this period will include drainage, road barrier installation, line marking and landscaping.
What to Expect:
- Works will occur between 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday, and 7am to 5pm on weekends.
- Some noise and construction activity will occur during daylight hours, with measures in place to reduce impact.
- Heavy machinery and vehicles will be on site, and deliveries of materials will be ongoing.
- Access to Granville Drive will be maintained for local traffic and businesses.
- The Seymour-Avenel Road bridge will remain closed, with detours in place via Avenel Road.
Traffic management will be in place to ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians. Dust suppression and environmental controls will also be in place to help minimise disruptions.
Mitchell Shire Council thanks residents and road users for their patience as these important works progress.
