Detectives have charged three people over alleged commercial drug supply and participation in a criminal group as part of ongoing investigations into the alleged murder of a teenager from Sydney's south-west.
Police were called to a home on Moresby Avenue, Glenfield, about 6.10am on Friday 14 April 2017, and found 15-year-old Brayden Dillon in bed with a gunshot wound to his head.
He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to The Children's Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition, where he later died.
An investigation was launched by detectives from the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad, assisted by the NSW Crime Commission and South West Metropolitan Region, under Strike Force Wongala.
Seven people have previously been charged by investigators. They remain before the courts.
Following further investigations, assisted by the Criminal Groups Squad, Strike Force Wongala investigators arrested a 62-year-old man at a home at Glebe just before 8am today (Wednesday 3 July 2019).
A short time later, investigators arrested a 40-year-old man at Goulburn Police Station.
Investigators subsequently executed search warrants at the Glebe home, a cell within a Correctional Centre at Goulburn, and a home at Hazelbrook.
As part of further inquiries, detectives attached to Riverina Police District arrested a 49-year-old woman at a home in Ashmont about 9.30am today.
The younger man, who is a prison inmate, was charged with knowingly direct activities of criminal group, supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity), knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, and hinder apprehension person who committed serious offence.
Police will allege in court the man utilised legal contact calls with a solicitor to direct a syndicate involved in the supply of methylamphetamine across the state between October 2017 and October 2018.
It will be further alleged he organised payment to a man to assist him while he was wanted by police for serious firearm offences.
He has been refused bail to at Goulburn Local Court today.
The older man, who is a solicitor, was taken to Newtown Police Station and charged with knowingly direct activities of criminal group, participate in criminal group contribute to criminal activity, take part supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity), knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, hinder apprehension person who committed serious offence, and hinder discovery of evidence re serious indictable office.
He has been refused bail to appear at Newtown Local Court today.
The woman was charged with participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, and supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity).
Police will allege in court that the woman supplied 400g of methylamphetamine in the Riverina region.
She was refused bail to appear at Wagga Wagga Local Court today.
Inquiries are continuing.
