Nationals Member for Cootamundra, Steph Cooke, joined Southern NSW growers, consultants, and industry members in Temora to celebrate the opening of the Agri Innovation Laboratory at the FarmLink Open Day.
The laboratory, supported by the Grains Research and Development Corporation, is a state-of-the-art facility designed to process plant and soil samples and support the research and development conducted by FarmLink researchers on site.
"This new facility marks a new chapter of collaboration and innovation here in Temora, where researchers can provide the latest analysis to growers faster than ever before. It was an honour to open the refurbished building alongside GRDC Extension Manager Charleton Glenn, and FarmLink Chair Rob McColl," Ms Cooke said.
Ms Cooke said the opening was just one part of a packed field day connecting producers with scientists, industry representatives, and local leaders.
"It's always great to get out in the paddock, and hear from researchers from NSW DPIRD, the Bureau of Meteorology, and Charles Sturt University. From 100-day-wheat to remotely powered sprayers, the future of agriculture in our region is so exciting to see," Ms Cooke said.
The research site also marks twenty years of operation in 2024, supporting southern NSW farmers and industry members through game-changing research.
Ms Cooke said the continued work of the FarmLink Temora Agricultural Innovation Centre is crucial to the future of Australian agriculture.
"Our region relies on the food and fibre produced by incredible farmers across the country. It is so exciting to see new ideas that make our farms safer, more effective, and more accessible for the next generation of young aggies," Ms Cooke said.
