Inquiry Underway After Man Stabbed At Merrylands

An investigation is underway after a man was stabbed while sitting in his car at Merrylands this morning.

Emergency services were called to carpark on Burnett Street, Merrylands, about 1.50am today (Tuesday 22 October 2024), following reports of an assault.

Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command arrived and were told a 23-year-old man was sitting in his car when he was approached by three to five people and stabbed.

The group left the scene and he called for assistance.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for injuries to his hand, shoulder, chest and thigh, before being taken to Westmead Hospital. Police have been told his injuries are not life-threatening.

A crime scene has been established with police now investigating the incident.
