An investigation is underway into the death of a man on a property 40km north of Kempsey on the state's Mid North Coast at the weekend.
About 9pm on Friday 12 April 2019, emergency services were called to a property on Eungai Creek Road at Eungai Creek where they found an 84-year-old man deceased.
Police have been told the man went for a walk about 5pm and his family became concerned when he failed to return home. Family members then located the man's body near the entrance to the property.
Officers from Mid North Coast Police District established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation.
A post mortem will be carried out this week to determine the cause of death.
A dog has been seized by council rangers as inquiries continue.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
