The Andero Lab - Translational Mechanisms of Fear Memory at the Institut de Neurociències of the UAB is looking for volunteers to participate in a study investigating how sex, menstrual cycles, and hormonal levels influence emotional memory modulation.
The Andero Lab - Translational Mechanisms of Fear Memory at the Institut de Neurociències (INc-UAB) is conducting a study on how men and women process fear memories differently. Previous findings suggest that distinct neuronal circuits are involved in fear memory consolidation depending on the sex, however further studies are needed to better understand these differences.
To advance this research, the lab is seeking additional volunteers. Participants will undergo non-invasive procedures, consisting of behavioral and psychophysiological assessments related to fear memory processing. Eligible volunteers will receive a compensation of €20 for their participation.
This research, led by ICREA Professor Dr. Andero, aims to deepen the understanding of neuropsychiatric disorders, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which exhibit fear memory alterations. By participating, volunteers will contribute to scientific knowledge that could lead to more effective, sex-specific treatments for these conditions.
