The Cook Government is continuing efforts to attract international students to WA, with students from India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Kenya, Brazil, Hong Kong and Zimbabwe receiving the inaugural Premier's University Scholarship.
The nine recipients are split between WA's five universities with each scholarship worth $50,000.
The scholarships are available annually for eligible international students at Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University, the University of Notre Dame Fremantle, and the University of Western Australia.
Each university will award two recipients annually over the next three years.
The Premier's University Scholarship program is a part of the $41.2 million boost to international education, which was announced in the 2022-23 State Budget.
Applications are now open for Semester 1, 2024. For more information visit https://www.wa.gov.au/WAPUS
