Bayside Council is supporting International Women's Day with an exciting handmade exhibition and ceramics market featuring local female artists at the Botany Town Hall on Saturday 8 March.
This exhibition features contemporary artworks from artists working at Claypool and the St George Potters Group and items will be available to purchase at the exhibition. There will also be an artist talk and demonstration.
Council is also holding a bike workshop for female bicycle owners wanting to gain the expertise and confidence to identify and repair bike issues.
The workshop will cover how to do a bike safety check, build a bike repair toolkit, remove and replace tyres, repair punctures, and check brakes. Participants must bring their own bike.
This event is being help in partnership with Southern Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (SSROC) and the Fix It Sisters Shed.
A series of Mums and Daughters Self Defence Workshops will be held in the Arncliffe Youth Centre during March. These workshops are presented by martial artist and anti-violence Mel Thomas who shares safety tips and simple self-defence techniques any woman and girl can use, no matter their size or skill level.
