International Women's Day Gala success

Council's International Women's Day Gala has been hailed a success yet again with more than $19,000 raised for Camden Meals on Wheels.

The annual event held at Gledswood Homestead and Winery last Thursday evening, was headlined by keynote speaker and renowned television presenter, journalist, and author Jessica Rowe AM.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said it was fantastic to celebrate women's achievements while raising funds for a great local organisation.

"Women play a vital role in the community, and it was important to pay tribute to each and every woman in our beautiful area," Cr Fedeli said.

"The Gala also allowed us to raise awareness for women's equality, in particular the gender parity debate while listening to a fantastic keynote speaker in Jessica Rowe AM.

"I'd like to thank all the attendees and everyone else who donated to Camden Meals on Wheels which is a priceless local organisation assisting those in our community in need."
