Homicide Squad detectives are continuing to appeal for information as part of their investigation into the fatal shooting of a man in Preston yesterday.
Emergency services were initially called to reports a man had been shot in a car park on High Street shortly after 10.30am on Tuesday, 28 January.
On arrival they located a 32-year-old Thomastown man with gunshot wounds.
Medical assistance was provided, however the man passed away at the scene.
A woman who was present with the man at the time of the shooting was not physically injured.
Shortly after, a white Porsche SUV Macan was located alight on Northernhay Street, near the intersection of Alexandra Street.
A second vehicle, a grey coloured Ford Ranger with a canopy was then located in Western Avenue, Westmeadows and this car had also been set on fire. This vehicle had a distinctive sticker of bull horns on the rear window of the canopy.
Detectives believe both these vehicles are linked to the shooting in Preston and are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen them travelling through the area in the lead up to and after the incident.
Police are also appealing for anyone who has CCTV or dash-cam footage showing these vehicles to come forward.
The investigation remains ongoing and police continue to treat this as a targeted attack.
