Today the Deputy Commissioner, as delegate of the ICAC, published a report as a result of an investigation into the misuse of leave entitlements by a senior public officer. The delegate found that the senior public officer had engaged in corrupt conduct.
It is appropriate and in the public interest to publish the report to bring awareness of improper conduct in the use of leave entitlements by public officers, and the requirement for public bodies and public officers to ensure leave entitlements are used in accordance with the relevant By-laws, Enterprise Agreements and Commissioner for Public Employment Determinations.
