Investigation underway after body located in house in Greenwich

An investigation is underway after a body was discovered at a home in Greenwich earlier this week, NSW Police say.

Police were called to the home on Greendale Street on Tuesday (29 May 2018), after the body was discovered by cleaners.

Officers from North Shore Police Area Command established a crime scene which is continuing to be forensically examined.

The body has not been identified and the death is being treated as suspicious.

It’s believed the body has been at the home for a considerable time and a post mortem is being conducted this afternoon to establish the cause of death and gender.

An investigation has been launched in an attempt to identify the circumstances surrounding the death, with local police being assisted by detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.

The occupant of the home died close to a year ago and the owners organised for the property to be cleaned this week.

Police are urging anyone who may know the identity of the deceased, or who has information that may assist, to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
