Police continue to investigate the sexual assault of a teenage girl at Gilberton last week and are urging witnesses to come forward.
On Wednesday 9 February, Detectives from Eastern District CIB arrested a 52-year-old Medindie man following the attempted sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl on Walkerville Terrace.
The incident occurred just after 4pm on Wednesday when she was approached by an unknown man while sitting at bus stop 7 on Walkerville Terrace.
Investigators believe the victim sought assistance of a woman shortly after the incident near the intersection of Walkerville Terrace and Thames Street, Gilberton between 4.10pm and 4.30pm.
The woman is described as being an older lady with white hair and wearing a pink top.
Eastern District Detectives are urging this woman to come forward and call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 to leave their contact details.
Police are also seeking assistance from anyone who was in the vicinity of Walkerville Terrace, bus stop 7 and the Buckingham Arms Hotel between 4.10pm and 4.20pm on Wednesday 9 February.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or may have dash cam footage are asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
