It's already day seven at Invictus Games Düsseldorf 2023, with the final hours of action ready to get under way.
From about 8pm (CET), the curtain will officially fall on Invictus Games Düsseldorf 2023, bringing together an action-packed seven days of sport and solidarity with the closing ceremony at Merkur Spiel-Arena.
Competitors will come together again to be celebrated for their courage, determination and fighting spirit.
To recognise the integral and indispensable role that family and friends play in the rehabilitation and recovery of competitors, two members from each nation's family and friends contingent will join their international cohorts to march behind the final nation entering the arena.
Camille Wood, friend of competitor Justin Donnelly and Ryan Bridgen, husband of competitor Erin Bridgen will have the honour of representing Team Australia.
Following the marching in of nations and closing speech from German President, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the Games' founder and patron, the Duke of Sussex, will close the official proceedings with a speech and preview of the next games, flagged for Vancouver-Whistler in 2025.
As the formalities come to an end, competitors will join staff and family and friends for a performance by British pop sensation and The Voice Australia judge, Rita Ora.
"The Invictus Games is a very special sporting event, and the competitors are an inspiration of perseverance and willpower for all of us," Ora told media in the lead-up to the Games.
