The awards included the APS Science and Emerging Scientist awards alongside multiple invited podiums and poster presentations, at this year's PharmSci conference.
Colleagues from the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS) made a splash at the Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences (APS) international pharmaceutical science conference earlier this month by claiming major awards, prestigious recognition and projecting a strong presence through invited podium and poster presentations.
Professor Stuart Jones (Director of the Centre for Pharmaceutical Medicine Research at King's College London) was the recipient of the APS Science award, which showcases an individual who has demonstrated an internationally excellent contribution to pharmaceutical science.
I was personally very honoured to present the APS Science Award Lecture and receive an APS fellowship.– Professor Stuart Jones, Director of the Centre for Pharmaceutical Medicine Research
Professor Jones's APS Science award plenary talk was titled 'Integrating Pharmaceutical Medicine with Pharmaceutical Science and Clinical Pharmacology to Expediate Global Medicines Development'. He was also recognised as a fellow of the APS which is the highest and most prestigious honour awarded by the APS to members each year in recognition of their contribution to the Academy and their accomplishment and impact in any sector of the pharmaceutical sciences.
Dr Bahijja Raimi-Abraham was the receipt of the Emerging Scientist award, which recognises researchers with no more than 10 years' experience since the award of their PhD who have an outstanding track record, indicative of excellent potential.
