Ipswich: Dangerous Driving Arrests in Whiskey Legion

Police officers working as part of Operation Whiskey Legion have arrested four men in relation to alleged dangerous driving offences around Ipswich and Brisbane, yesterday, November 7.

It will be alleged a white Hyundai i30 was first seen being driven dangerously in Ipswich around 9.30am yesterday, before it was also sighted in North Brisbane, Logan and again in Ipswich.

The vehicle was allegedly stolen from Ashgrove on October 30.

Two 19-year-old men and an 18-year-old man were taken into custody this afternoon at a Leichhardt property.

Police took a fourth man into custody at a Walloon property this afternoon.

Operation Command Detective Inspector Michael Manago said police have no tolerance for dangerous driving.

"Our top priority is always going to be public safety and ensuring we can apprehend offenders without risking the safety of our community and the offenders, even if they show little regard for their own safety," Detective Inspector Manago said.

"Through surveillance and investigative techniques Operation Whiskey Legion was able to take these men into custody as safely as possible.

"Just yesterday Ipswich police reminded motorists that police were out on the roads during this deployment targeting dangerous driving.

"Anyone found to be committing these offences and jeopardising community safety will be held to account, as we have shown today."
