The Mount Isa Mines Rodeo isn't just an event—it's legendary. As the largest rodeo in the Southern Hemisphere and one of the biggest in the world, it's where champions return to defend their titles, rising stars carve their names into history, and eight electrifying seconds can feel like an eternity.

For three adrenaline-fueled days, Mount Isa in Outback Queensland comes alive with the raw power of bull riding, bronc busting, barrel racing, roping and more, as the world's toughest cowboys and cowgirls battle for some of the most coveted buckles in rodeo. Set against the backdrop of red dirt and Outback pride, this is more than a competition—it's a celebration of grit, glory, and the untamed spirit of rodeo.

The event will take place at the famous Buchanan Park from Friday August 8 to Sunday August 10 with tickets on sale on Thursday April 3 at 9am. Rodeo fans are encouraged to buy now, and book travel arrangements to ensure the most epic red-dirt weekend ever!!

The award-winning Indigenous Rodeo Championships, now in its fourth year, will be held on Sunday morning, before the Open Finals, making for an action-packed finale to the three days.

In a welcome move, daily entry prices have been slashed:

  • Adults - $50
  • Child eight years to 17 - $20
  • Child seven years and under - free
  • Pensioner passes - $35
  • The Family Pass has been introduced - $120 for two adults and three kids
  • Adult Three Day Rodeo Pass - $120
  • Pensioner Three Day Rodeo Pass - $90
  • Family Three Day Rodeo Pass (2 adults + 3 kids) - $300
  • A three day unpowered CAMPING SITE is $200 per site; a five day powered site is $350 per site) , and a five day unpowered site is 300 per site.

In more welcome news, famed country performer and longtime friend of Isa Rodeo, Luke Geiger will perform on both evenings – Friday and Saturday.

Mount Isa Mines Rodeo Community Board Chair Mark 'Tommo' Thompson said he hoped fans and riders from all over the country, would converge over the three days in August, launching a new era for the event.

For 65 years, the Mount Isa Mines Rodeo has drawn the best riders in the country to battle it out on the iconic red dirt of Queensland's Outback.
